Who We Are

Northwoods Humane Society is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization located in Wyoming, MN. We operate a lively shelter facility, which is supported by donations and fund-raising events held throughout the year. We are proud to have served Forest Lake and many surrounding communities since 1970. We originally started out as a foster home network placing about 200 dogs and cats per year into permanent homes. In January 2000, we completed construction of our shelter and opened the doors to broaden our ability to find homes for unwanted animals. Since that time, we have helped over 1,000 cats and dogs per year, increasing capacity by five times. We offer many services including intake, adoption, education, and low cost spay/neuter programs. Our Mission: Caring for animals in need. The homeless, strays, abused, neglected, lost. Heal them, love them, help them find a home. Many animals are depending on all of us. A united effort will help those who cannot speak for themselves.
