Darwin
Hi Everyone!
It's me, Darwin. Just dropping a note to let you know how I'm doing. I was adopted on June 2nd to a home in Brooklyn Park. Mom (Patti) and the tall guy (Tony) took me away from you all. But life is great! Dad (Michael) and Thomas (the kid not sure of a new pet) were waiting for us. As I explored my new fenced in backyard, my new family found me a new name that I really like! Buster. New home, new name. Cool!!
The first week was tough. I made Mom and Tony walk 3 miles to the Vet. (I would not get into Mom's car). My new Vet Doc had to put me on more pills for Lyme Disease. YUK! When Dad came to get us, he just picked me up and put me in the van and home we went. "Home", what a nice word! The next day, I got out the front door and Mom chased me for 7 blocks. Boy, was she mad.
I love my new home. See the pictures! I have my own afghan to lay on; kids to wrestle with me and my pink kitty toy. They sure wear me out! The big fence has squirrels that like to sit on the posts. I chase them into my tree and try to get them by standing in the bird bath. No luck this time, however. I love to just be on the deck and watch everything (especially the rabbits in the neighbor's yard).
Mom says I have a lot to learn. Things like "sit, stay, lay, come" plus new ones like "out of the garden", "no chewing on socks or hats", "play nice" when we wrestle, "no digging" and "nose down" when I get near the counters or kitchen table. I'm trying real hard and my new family is patient. Dad's big fan is no longer scary either. I realized the cool breeze feels good on hot days. Mom wants me to learn to ride in the car so we can go to fun places, but I like the van. It's bigger. The one thing I learned fast is ice cubes make good treats.
I want to say "thanks" for caring for me and not giving up on me! My picture on your website is how my family found me. (I am pretty cute, too so that helped.) Thanks a million! What you all do there helped me find a new life, a nice home and a loving family.
Woof, Woof to you all,
Buster
P.S. Mom wrote this. I can't type and I still chew on pencils.
