Dora
Hi! I'm Dora's new mommy and wanted to send you guys some pictures and give you an update. We actually changed her name to Kelsey and it didn't take her long to learn it. She seems to really love living here and has bonded with our other dog quickly. They play outside ALL DAY LONG when it's warm! By nighttime they're really tired and usually sleep after eating their dinner (and love to sleep on the same bed, even though they both have their own!).
After two weeks of Kelsey chewing up our house, we've finally trained her to not chew on anything except her toys and bones. Halleluiah!! We tried to kennel train her, but she bent the bars of the metal kennel to get out and ate a hole through (picture attached) of the plastic kennel. After going through $300 in kennels, we decided that she wasn't going to kennel train and hated being confined, so we just treated her like we treat our kids. We set boundaries, punished her when she crossed them, and rewarded her when she didn't. She responded right away and is the type of dog that just needs to know what she can and can't do. We love her so much and can't imagine life without her. If we had more money and a bigger house, we would have gotten Odie, too, and often think about coming back to get him. :)
Kelsey loves the kids and enjoys the times when they throw a toy for her. She really likes it when they lay and crawl on her, too. Actually, she really enjoys any attention they give her! We haven't been able to tell if the antibiotics are helping her mastitis. She doesn't seem to be lactating anymore, but the back right tit is still really sore and bulging. Hopefully by the end of the antibiotics, it will be better. We'll keep you updated. Oh, I haven't got around to mailing the antibiotic request from the vet. I don't have a copy machine or a fax machine, so I've been at a loss of how to get it to you. I took a picture of that and attached that, also, but will try to get you a paper copy, too. Thank you.
