10th Annual “Walk with the Animals” Recap

Our 10th Annual “Walk with the Animals” held on May 4th, 2008 was a great success! It was a day full of excitement with over 200 human and 130 canine attendees, not to forget the one miniature horse named “Rosie”! The sight of so many animal lovers enjoying the beautiful day with their furry friends was the perfect way to kick off “Be Kind To Animals” week. Thank you to all the people who collected pledges or made a donation to help support the cats and dogs of Northwoods Humane Society. The effort, time and dedication of caring citizens and businesses created one of the most successful fundraisers we have had in years. Our own shelter mascot, Joel, collected over $1,000 in online pledges without leaving his cat tree! With everyone’s generosity, we achieved $31,089 in donations resulting in saving, supporting and adopting out the animals in our care and the many to come. Hope to see you next year!
